JOB PROFILE
Full-Time Position: Sex Work Research Project Coordinator

AIDS infoshare is a Moscow-based Russian non-governmental organization that has been working in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and human rights protection within the Russian health field since 1993. To date, AIDS infoshare remains one of Russia’s leading resource and training centres working to respond to the needs of health professionals, NGO programme planners, service providers, and vulnerable population groups through the provision of cutting edge information and capacity building to organizations and professionals throughout the Russian Federation.

AIDS infoshare is presently looking for a motivated native English speaker with strong Russian speaking skills to coordinate a 4-year NIDA-supported research project currently underway in Moscow, Russia. The project aims to examine HIV and STI risk behaviours of female sex workers in Moscow so to identify and develop effective, comprehensive HIV prevention response interventions. The project is comprised of three principle phases: formative research (qualitative research); cross-sectional (quantitative); and a 12-month cohort study. Project efforts are conducted in partnership with Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA), AIDS infoshare (Moscow), The All Russian Institute of Dermovenerology (Moscow), and the Ivanovsky Institute of Immunology (Moscow).

Position Description:

The project coordinator will work closely with American and Russian partner institutions during all planning, development and implementation stages of the 4-year research project amongst female sex workers in Moscow. The project coordinator will:

¢ Work closely with the American project team in project planning and the development of necessary research instruments.
¢ Coordinate and supervise on-the-ground research activities hosted at Russian partner institutes.
¢ Meet regularly with the Russian Research and Outreach Coordinators conducting project planning, implementation, and on-going trouble-shooting activities related to on the ground research efforts.
¢ Provide supervision to project staff in all aspects of the project, including the organization and facilitation of weekly research meetings.
¢ Conduct on-going communications with project partners in Moscow and in Baltimore
¢ Ensure administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner – i.e. funding reports, minutes, setting agendas and facilitating communication between all project committees and members

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

¢ A strong command of spoken Russian
¢ An understanding of public health strategies and a commitment to efforts in HIV and STI prevention
¢ Experience working with members of vulnerable population groups within a public health framework
¢ Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with others
¢ Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
¢ Ability to work independently
¢ Demonstrated strong group facilitation and public speaking skills
¢ Computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, etc.)
¢ Willingness to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
¢ Experience in working in countries of the former Soviet Union

Location: Moscow
Salary: 1, 000 USD monthly

Full-Time Position: Fundraiser and Project Assistant

AIDS infoshare is a Moscow-based Russian non-governmental organization that has been working in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and human rights protection within the Russian health field since 1993. To date, AIDS infoshare remains one of Russia’s leading resource and training centres working to respond to the needs of health professionals, NGO programme planners, service providers, and vulnerable population groups through the provision of cutting edge information and capacity building to partners throughout the Russian Federation.
At present AIDS infoshare is looking for a motivated native English speaker to join its energetic team of 16 full-time staff members to conduct on-going fundraising activities and project efforts.

Position Description:

The fundraiser will work closely with other members of the Fundraising Department to achieve the following tasks:

¢ Work collaboratively with members and departments at the organization to develop and advocate for innovative strategies in addressing the HIV/STI response needs of project target groups.
¢ Assist in developing project strategies for new and existing initiatives.
¢ Conduct on-going communications with project partners and donor agencies working within Russia’s HIV/AIDS field.
¢ Identification of funding opportunities and write funding proposals
¢ Represent AIDS infoshare in various capacities as required
¢ Ensure administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner – i.e. funding reports

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

¢ A strong command of spoken Russian
¢ An understanding of public health strategies and a commitment to efforts in HIV and STI prevention
¢ Experience working with members of vulnerable population groups within a public health framework
¢ Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with others
