Varvara Kryvchenkova de Bracho graduated from the Surikov State Arts Institute in Moscow in 1994
and has shown her work in highly acclaimed solo and joint exhibitions in Moscow and London,
including at the Manezh and the Central House of Artists. Her work is held in private collections
in Russia, Mexico, UK, Japan, Germany, France, Spain, USA, South Africa and other countries.
Her bright and vivid portraits, landscapes and flower paintings combine Russian 20th century
experimentation with the tradition of primitivism of the painting of Mexico, her adopted
country. She combines the vivacity and luxuriant colours of Latin America with a Russian
introspection, producing work of quite startling originality and charm.
