Pushkin Club

24th June 2005

Dear All

The Pushkin Club very much regrets that 4 talks towards the end of the 2004 -05 season had to be cancelled.
In two cases this was because of flu. The other two cancellations were due to a birth and to commitments
to a publisher. We hope to include these talks in our 2005-06 season, the programme for which
will be mailed out and on our website later this year. The cancelled talks were:

Pre-revolution films of Evgenii Bauer. The speaker: Rachael Morley.

Gerard McBurney, on Pushkin and Gogol in the works of Shostakovich.

Stanley Mitchell on Chagal’s illustrations for Dead Souls.

Robert Chandler, a reading/talk on the writer Nadezhda Teffi (real name Lokhvitskaya; 1872 — 1952)

Best wishes
Ute
