ARCTIC / RUSSIAN CONVOYS (1)
The Scots at War Trust will hold a witness seminar on the subject of the Arctic/Russian Convoys in WW2 led by Veterans from the period. The seminar will be in central Edinburgh, 5.30pm on 29 November. This will no doubt interest those of you who came to the (excellent!) talk on the Russian convoys on Sept 15 – and those who missed it.
Numbers are strictly limited and the Trust has kindly offered to make 10 tickets available to SRF members. If you would like one please contact me and I will allocate them on the basis of first come first served. No charge.
ARCTIC / RUSSIAN CONVOYS (2)
We have 10 copies of a book entitled "Loch Ewe during World War II" by Steve Chadwick (a local historian) which are available for £3.50 incl p&p.
I meant to put these out at Jock Dempster's talk on 15 Sept but forgot…
Please contact me if you would like one: [removed]
We are frequently asked to suggest English language classes for Russians newly arrived in Edinburgh. We have recently received details of a course run by the ESU:

£120 for 4 hour course, £70 for 2 hour course – ie less than £4/hour
Small groups (min 4 people), daytime or evening, qualified TEFL teachers, preparation for Cambridge Certs, intensive weekend courses…. They tell me they MIGHT even find a Russian-speaking teacher.
