Sunday, 19 February, 4 pm
The Catherine the Great Orchestra (St Petersburg)
Andrey Reshetin violin, artistic director
Yuri Minenko countertenor
Following the success of last year’s concert at Wigmore Hall, The Catherine the Great Orchestra is coming to London once again to perform 18th-century Russian and European music. The orchestra's Artistic Director Andrey Reshetin, who was the violinist for the legendary Russian band Akvarium, from 1987 to 1992, brings the energy and excitement of Rock into performances of Baroque music.
It is as a result of extensive research into archive material that the Catherine the Great Orchestra is able to present masterpieces of forgotten 18th-century composers from the Russian Imperial Court – Khandoshkin, Zhernovik, Paisiello, Arraya, Galuppi, Titz and others.
Tickets: £12, £14, £18, £22
