The travellers discussed are Piotr Tolstoi, Fonvizin, Karamzin, Pogodin,
Botkin,
Herzen, Dostoevsky, Saltykov-Schedrin. Professor Offord is in the
Russian
Department at Bristol.
Julian Gallant, the director of Pushkin House, will take you round this
splendid
building before the talk. Pushkin House is a listed Grade 2* building
which
dates back to the 18th century and was the birthplace and home of the
young
Disraeli. It is conveniently situated close to the British Museum and the
