Chambers Gallery

2nd September 2007

Dear All
You are invited to a private view:
13th September 6-9 (Exhibition from 14th September to 5th October)

Mikhail Roiter (1916-1993) lived the lifespan of the Soviet Union. Famous
for his book illustrations for F Dostoyevsky novels, he was at the same
time a recognised master of sports themes. Later he discovered the soft
and gentle technique of watercolour so different from his favourite but
highly technical graphic arts lithography and etching. This exhibition
of Roiters works is the first opportunity for the British public to see
the retrospective show of one of the most talented graphic artists and
book illustrators of the FSU.
