National Theatre presents:

Burnt by the Sun  by Peter Flannery

As part of our current season we are staging an exciting new play, Burnt
By the Sun that may be of particular interest to you.

Burnt By The Sun is set in Russia in 1936 at the dawn of Stalin’s Great
Terror.  Colonel Kotov, and his family are enjoying an idyllic summer in
the country, until one summer morning when his wife’s former lover returns
from a long and unexplained absence. Amidst a tangle of sexual jealousy,
retribution and remorseless political backstabbing, Kotov feels the full,
horrifying reach of Stalin’s rule.

Directed by Howard Davies (Gethsemane, Never So Good, Philistines) this
play features Olivier award-winner Rory Kinnear, Ciarán Hinds and Michelle
Dockery.
