Dear All
Just to confirm that the talk on Wednesday will now be in English.
Best wishes
Ute
Dear fellow members of the GB-Russia Society
Natalia Kolosova is in hospital, and therefore unable to give her talk on
Vysotsky (in Russian) this coming Wednesday.
We are however very grateful to Mr. John Roycroft who has kindly agreed
to
take her place.
John, a long standing member of the Society and its predecessors,1(who
has
been a fan of Vysotsky for some 30 years) will give a ten minute
introduction in English, and he will then play a selction of Vysotsky's
ballads in Russian.
The chair will be taken by the Editor of our Journal, and former Head of
Russian at Surrey University Dr. David Holohan. David is also a long time
fan of Vysotsky, and he will be able to add his own commentary. He has in
the past lectured on Vysotsky.
We still have some seats available, and because some of the evening will
now be in English I hope that additional members will seize the
opportunity to be present.
Best regards
Daniel (Salbstein)
Talks Organiser.
