lecture this Wednesday May 6th

4th May 2009

Dear fellow member of The Great Britain-Russia Society

This Wednesday evening at 6.30 for 7.00 p.m. we are privileged to welcome
as Guest lecturer Mr. James Sherr, arguably Britain's pre-eminent and most
distinguished expert on Ukraine.

So far we have received only 28 firm reservations, which I consider to be
an abysmal and pathetic response!

I therefore trust that several of you who have not yet booked will now
make the effort to come, because if you expect me to display the
enthusiasm, energy and drive to obtain the most outstanding expert
speakers I must look to the general membership to back me up and to
support the Society actively by providing a pretty full audience.

Mr. James Sherr occupies the prestigious post as Head of the Russia and
Eurasia Programme at Chatham House, The Royal Institute of Internationsl
Affairs.

This is one of the top two events in this summer session.

Please do not delay. Either book on line (the preferable alternative), or
post your cheque for this talk by first class post to Ute Chatterjee, 43
Kenilworth Court, Lower Richmond Road, London SW15 1EN. Better still, as
we are so close to the event, perhaps you should ring her on 0788 4464 461
to advise her that you will definitely be coming!

Your presence at this major highlight of the session will be much
appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing you this Wednesday.

Yours sincerely
Daniel Salbstein
Talks Organiser.
