Dear Members and Friends,
I have managed to get hold of 20 copies of Dr Rachel Polonsky's book
'Molotov's Magic Lantern', which will be on sale tonight at her talk at
the special price of £6 (Amazon are currently offering it at £6.19, plus
postage). Dr Polonsky will be pleased to sign copies. Please try and
bring the correct change if you can, and note also that we do not have
facilities for credit cards.
As you have already been informed, the talk is full this evening but I
hope to see those of you there who have already booked a ticket.
The next issue of the 'East-West Review', together with the Summer
Programme of Guest Speakers, should go out on time and be with you around
the middle of April.
Just one last point: our special event – the UK premiere of the Brest
Fortress film, to be screened at Pushkin House on 7 April at 7 pm – WILL
have English subtitles.
Don't miss the stunning exhibition of photos of the Brest Fortress, which
will be running at Pushkin House, also from 7th April, but there will be a
preview and reception (with drinks) for members of GB-Russia Society and
Friends of Pushkin House in the presence of the Belarus Ambassador at 6 pm
on 6th April, just before the talk by Leonid Gamberg (in Russian), so you
have two good reasons for coming along on the 6th!
Hope to see you there.
