Piazzolla

14th April 2011

Please see details of ''Piazzolla Hour'' which will be performed by the
Amor Quintet as part of Astor Piazzolla's 90th Birthday Celebrations on
Saturday 7th May at 7 p.m.
Regards
Ute

NIKOLAI RYSKOV – ACCORDION-BAYAN – Nikolai entertained us at our party at
Ognisko last Christmas. He is a huge admirer of Piazzolla and discovered
that his music when played on the accordion sounds amazing and has
arranged more than 100 of his compositions for the accordion-bayan.
Piazzolla’s music, particularly his tangos, speak to us with the authority
of genuine feeling. Their roots lie in Buenos Aires’ jumble of colliding
cultures: Spanish, German, Russian and Native American.

Also:
ANNE-MARIE CURRAN – VIOLIN
FIRAT ALTAY- PIANO
MILTON MERMIKIDES – ELECTRIC GUITAR
SAM RYAN- DOUBLE BASS
