Dear Members and Friends,
Harvey Pitcher's book 'Responding to Chekhov' will be available for
purchase at his talk tomorrow at Pushkin House at the special price of
£10. (Please bring the correct change if you can.) Professor Richard
Freeborn reviewed this book in the latest edition of the 'East-West
Review', describing it as 'equally as satisfying as vintage champagne in
its inquiring, appreciative and wise response to his work'.
Come along tomorrow and enjoy Harvey's talk on 'Chekhov the Humorist' and
discover that he's not at all the gloomy Russian playwright that he's made
out to be so often: his writing can be very funny!
Hope to see you at this fine talk, which gets our Summer Session off to a
flying start.
Kindest regards,
David Holohan.
