Blue Rider Revisited: Textile exhibition – Barbican Library – 4th
October – 28th October 2011:

An interesting exhibition with a Russian focus is taking place at the
Barbican Library Foyer from Tuesday October 4th to Wednesday October
28th.
The show is called “Blue Rider Revisited” by Fabricity, a group of
textile makers from the Morley College Advanced Textile Workshop, who are
celebrating the centenary of the first exhibition of the Blue Rider
artists in Munich in 1911- a key event in establishing the legitimacy of
abstract art. The leader of the “Blue Rider” was Vassily Kandinsky, who
was to achieve international fame, and included Paul Klee, Alexei
Jawlensky, Gabrielle Munter and Franz Marc.
