Received from Charles Phu
There will be a screening/presentation event at Pushkin House on 21
September Wednesday, where we will talk about/present our progress with
the full-evening four-act opera work Uncle Vanya, which Neal Thornton
(composer/musical director), Sally Burgress (director) and I (designer)
have been developing from the one-act opera Sonya's Story since last
summer's premiere. You can see Pushkin House link:
We will also play a few orchestrated pieces from the opera Uncle Vanya in
progress, alongside live piano playing a few pieces during the interactive
talk with the audiences.
With Pushkin House's warmest support, we would also be delighted if you
could invite Russia-GB Society members/friends and people who are
interested in operas and classical music (either related to Russian themes
or not) and who are interested in supporting such new works.
Should you and/or people you know would like to attend the event, please
let me and Jenny Levitan from Pushkin House know and we/she would assist
to book seats for you.
As a reminder – this is the website for the opera Sonya's Story.
Thanks again. I sincerely look forward to seeing you there.
