BEARR Trust Lecture – 26 September 2012

Politics and Society in Russia Today

You are cordially invited to a BEARR Trust lecture by Lilia Shevtsova at 6pm on 26 September 2012, to be held at the conference centre at BEARR’s HQ:
CAN-Mezzanine, 32-36 Loman Street, London SE1 0EE (5 minutes from Southwark underground station). Tea and coffee will be served from 5.30.

Lilia Shevtsova is one of Russia’s leading commentators on domestic and external politics. See below for more background.

The BEARR Trust is a charity dedicated to working with NGOs in Russia and other countries formerly part of the Soviet Union to help develop the third sector in the region, especially in the field of health and social welfare, and thus promote the establishment of democratic and stable societies.

The lecture is free, and all are welcome. Space is limited so please book early. This is a BEARR Trust fund-raising event, and guests are invited to make an advance donation of £20 per person. All proceeds will go towards BEARR’s work to support health and welfare and to strengthen civil society.

Lilia Shevtsova chairs the Russian Domestic Politics and Political Institutions Program at the Carnegie Moscow Center, dividing her time between Carnegie’s offices in Washington, DC and Moscow. She has been with Carnegie since 1995.
