You will recall I sent out a note about the return of the Walpole pictures from the Hermitage to Houghton Hall, Norfolk.
I have just returned from a visit to Houghton Hall and can highly recommend doing so as it is a truly magnificent collection of some 70 paintings now housed in their original frames and hung in their original locations. Houghton Hall is also impressive in its own right,
A number of members were interested in seeing this exhibition so may I suggest you go online to the website: www.houghtonrevisited.com
I had hoped we might have managed a group visit, but we do not have sufficient numbers. I would therefore recommend for those interested, booking tickets in advance and taking a train as the most convenient route from either KIng’s Cross or Liverpool Street to King’s Lynn or Norwich.
