Dear Fellow Members of The Great Britain-Russia Society
We have an important talk on Russian Literature on Wednesday June 22nd.
Our distinguished speaker will be Mr. Michael Pursglove, a retired University Lecturer, who has been the Head of the Department of Russian Studies at Reading University, and a Senior University Lecturer at several other Universities. He has been contributing valuable articles to our Journal over many years.
The subject of his talk is “The Golden Age of Russian Poetry”. It is about Russia’s greatest national poet, Alexander Pushkin, and his contemporaries, in the decades after Russia’s victory in the Napoleonic Wars, and in the Romantic Era.
I would respectfully urge as many of you as possible to reserve places both for you and your guests, so that our distinguished guest speaker has an audience worthy of the occasion.
If you have not already booked your seat, please make the effort to do so now. You will not be disappointed, and your reservation will be much appreciated.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Wednesday June 22nd – the day before he Referendum vote!
With Best Wishes to you All
Daniel Salbstein
