Act of Remembrance – Sunday 10 November 2019 – 12.30pm
You are cordially invited to join the Trustees of the Soviet War Memorial Trust (SWMT) at the annual Act of Remembrance at the Soviet War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday, 10 November 2019 starting at 12.30pm. Participants should gather in front of the main entrance to the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, London SE1 6HZ by 12.15pm. From there they will process to the nearby Memorial.
Invitees include the Mayor of Southwark, local MPs and councillors, diplomats from the Embassies of the CIS countries, veterans and supporters of the Memorial. An RSVP is not essential – you are welcome to simply come along on the day. However, if you intend to lay a wreath, or to bring the standard of your organisation, please respond to this email as soon as possible.
The ceremony is expected to last roughly 30 minutes. Please note that for this ceremony there will be no temporary seating at the Memorial. We advise using public transport if at all possible.
ADVANCE INFORMATION: Next year, the SWMT/Southwark Council Holocaust Memorial Day event will take place on MONDAY 27 JANUARY 2020 . Details will be released in early January. The Victory Day ceremony will take place as usual on SATURDAY 9 MAY 2020.
