Seminar Programme (full programme of lectures available on the website)
The two-day intensive seminar in advanced Russian 2020 offers a stimulating lecture programme, aimed at teachers, translators and interpreters of Russian, as well as all those with an advanced-level comprehension of spoken Russian and an interest in contemporary Russia. Two senior lecturers from St Petersburg, Russia, each read four lectures per day, in parallel, on a selection of topics covering both Russian linguistics and ‘stranovedenie’ (country studies, including Russian literature, culture, education and history). Participants choose from one of two options per session. Each lecture session lasts 70 minutes, including time for discussion. Lectures are entirely in Russian and supported with handouts. We also encourage talking in Russian during the breaks. Maximum 30 participants.
