Supporting vulnerable people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

Webinar: Civil Society Support for Persons with Disabilities in the EECCA region

5 November 2020 at 14:00 – 15:30 GMT

Register here to join the first of The BEARR Trust’s three November webinars

Dear friends and colleagues,

You are warmly invited to the first of three BEARR webinars exploring the impact of COVID-19 on civil society organisations (CSOs) in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia (the EECCA region) from different angles.

This, the first webinar, will explore how disability CSOs are supporting persons with disabilities in the EECCA region during the pandemic. Particular attention will be paid to their activities to address COVID-19’s impact on community inclusion and promote equal rights for persons with disabilities in the complicated context of lockdown, social distancing and economic downturns.

Speakers from disability organisations in different parts of the EECCA region will share their experiences of promoting disability rights during the pandemic, the challenges they face, and ideas for future projects.

We very much hope you can join us for what promises to be an insightful and informative discussion.

For further details and to register via Eventbrite, please click here

Many thanks,
The BEARR Trust

Format

The event will be in Zoom Meeting format, to encourage as much participation as possible. There will be short presentations by the three panellists, followed by a Q&A and general discussion. It will be streamed in English and Russian simultaneously.

Instructions for joining the Zoom meeting will be sent out closer to the time.

Please note that the event will be recorded. Participants are invited to turn off their cameras if they would prefer not to be seen in the recording. During these events there is a possibility that your audio or visual data may be captured and published. Any information that you provide, or is captured during the event may be used by the BEARR Trust in accordance with our processing and privacy policy. All personal data will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR 2018.

Ticketing

As this year’s usual Annual Conference has been replaced by three online webinars, the BEARR Trust will not be charging a fee for these events. However, we would encourage anyone able to make a donation to do so. Any donation will be gratefully received and help us to continue supporting CSOs in the EECCA region at a time when they are having adapt to new challenges and restrictions, while the vulnerable groups they work with need their support more than ever.

We would suggest a donation of £5, £10 or £20.
